Angela Haldane – ‘Natural Ange’ is a naturopath, medical herbalist and registered nurse. Angela is a professional member of the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists (NZAMH) and the Natural Health Council (NHC).

‘Herbal medicine and clinical nutrition have a positive impact on fertility. As a Naturopath, I base my treatments on current research to optimise the health of the reproductive organs in both men and women. I also treat immune conditions, hormonal imbalances, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome and stress to optimise fertility. In a detailed consultation, I discuss diet and lifestyle management and work alongside the other practitioners in the team to improve your fertility outcomes’.

Denise is an intuitive healer, and works with integrity and passion; she holds a diploma in Yoga, Thai yoga floor work and has recently completed Aroha healing level 1 and Aroha healing massage for women. Denise is available for Aroha healing massage sessions & 4 handed Hawaiian Ka huna sessions with Rosanna. She is currently undergoing training for Aroha healing sessions 1 – 3.

Having suffered from endometriosis since my twenties, and diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in my thirties – I’ve always worried about my ability to conceive.  Even before I was ready to start a family, I decided it would be a good idea to visit a fertility specialist to get an idea of what my chances were and what I could do to ensure they stayed as high as possible.  I was referred to a medical fertility specialist who put me back on the contraceptive pill (to halt the progression of my conditions) and assured me my chances would be average- ish as long as I kept fit and healthy.  However, this just didn’t seem like enough – and I still felt emotionally upset / hormonally out of whack – not to mention the fact that I was also suffering from a most definite departure of my libido!

I heard about Aroha Healing through the grapevine, and was impressed with the no-nonsense, professional yet gentle and all natural approach of founding Director Rosanna Marks.  Previously a little sceptical of naturopaths, alternative therapies and the ability of things like massage and yoga to actually heal oneself – I was immediately won over on my first visit.  It became clear within minutes of arriving that Rosanna and her team knew their stuff and used well researched and proven methods and techniques to enhance and regulate fertility.

But perhaps even more important was the emotional healing I received through visiting Aroha Healing.  I hadn’t really appreciated the toll my health problems had taken on my emotions, my investment in relationships with men and my plans for the future.  I’d been dead scared for years that I wouldn’t be able to realise the dream of being a Mum & that my whole life would amount to a lot less than I and those around me expected it to.

The mind-body approach at Aroha Healing allowed me to overcome the physical and emotional scarring of Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  Benefits quite aside from my hormones were evident in clearer skin, increased flexibility, less neck and back tension and a whole heap more mental clarity and emotional strength no matter how bad my day at work had gone!  The holistic approach of integrating healing practices such as Reiki with hands-on physical therapy like Hawaiian Ka huna massage and recommendations for dietary changes and naturopathic herb supplements meant I never felt overwhelmed with one particular thing.  All were manageable in individual doses, with support from Aroha Healing’s practitioners every step of the way via weekly consults.

I’m halfway through my Aroha Healing Fertility Program and I can feel the changes in my body already.  But they hardly compare to the change in mental state and emotional outlook I’ve experienced.  In fact I’ve come to realise I was probably in a state of minor depression about my uncertain fertility for a number of years.

Best of all, I think my libido is heating up again – and I’ve never felt so in love or appreciative of my partner’s support.  I can’t recommend Aroha Healing highly enough to anyone looking to turn around, improve or even just safeguard their fertility or hormonal health.  In an age where we’re discovering the effectiveness of natural remedies and the long-term and little publicised adverse affects of scientific medicine, it’s reassuring to know that I’m doing what nature intended with my body.

The KAHUNA massage that I received from you was a wonderful balancing experience of my mind body and spirit. Especially the blend of strokes of Kundalini style massage was so wonderfully executed by you, and the cherry on the cake was the movement of Kundalini trigger from my feet, when you swayed them side to side. Reiki 1 Nature Retreat August 2011

Rosanna is a genuine healer and teacher, radiating warmth and generosity in a grounded and down-to-earth way that naturally inspires others to her. Attending her Reiki 1 retreat was a deeply relaxing and healing experience for me. Rosanna held everyone in our group with gentle care, guidance and attention, supplied us some great resources and ensured that we were all well fed with delicious food. By the end of the weekend I felt reiki flowing through my hands, and felt very blessed. I am really looking forward to getting back together with all the beautiful people from our group, for monthly Reiki swaps now!

Sacred Aroha Practitioners Retreat September 2011…

Hi my name’s Wendy Farry, I have just finished the Sacred Aroha Practitioner course with Rosanna Marks at Aio Wira Retreat.

I was very excited about learning a non-sexual form of sacred aroha healing, as I had previously tried the sexual form and it wasn’t what I was looking for.  Although I was nervous on the first day I quickly felt at ease by Rosanna’s professional attitude towards such a personal topic.  Coming from a Reiki and massage background I thought I would know alot of the content already, but in the 3 days I learnt so much more than I expected and not just about tantra but also about me.

Both the theory and practical were easily presented and I felt completely safe and comfortable in the environment, and knew that I could openly speak up if any awkwardness came up.

I’ve come away from this experience with a lot more love for myself and humanity and was also lucky enough to share it with some very beautiful people who I know I will stay in touch with.

In this first level we begin with an in-depth consultation. This will lead to you experiencing the activation and flow of your energy centres, specific massage techniques are used to deeply warm the body, calm the mind and heal the spirit. Breath represents our ability to take in life. Breath is our life force; air and breath are the most basic of our needs. We very rarely think about breathing unless it is threatened, yet it is one of our few physical functions that are automatic, however it is the one function that we have the ability to control readily by changing its depth, rhythm and rate.

There is a link between breathing and emotion.

“When the breath is unsteady, all is unsteady, when the breath is still, all is still. Control the breath carefully. Inhalation gives strength and a controlled body, retention gives steadiness of mind and longevity, exhalation purifies body, mind & spirit” – Goraksasathakam.

In this second session you will experience a fusion of miri miri (traditional NZ Maori massage) and Hawaiian Ka huna massage styles, meditation, mantra and mudras. You will learn our simple Aroha heart breath techniques, with Egyptian body movement to allow for energy to flow freely and readily through your body. Breath is life and this session will give you a depth of understanding on how important great breathing techniques can be for you. Advancement on enhancement techniques (the ability to feel sensuality in your body) will be taught, and you will learn more about how you can feel totally energised, along with an amazing calming influence, and how this can be achieved with very little effort.

Taumata tuarua will provide you with essential knowledge to walk away with fundamental education of our Aroha heart breath, and will allow you to find the essential route between mind and body, enabling you to learn how to draw energy from above and below. Also included in this level are flowing body movements that will allow a deep release of old blockages and thought processes.

Aroha breath work is also a purification breath; you will feel cleansed, revitalised and in connection with your heart & self. You will experience the Aroha miri miri healing touch to stimulate and energise your body, powerful breath work with flowing miri miri massage movements.
